Place to snowboard near nice city?

I am looking for a place where the snowboarding is good and where you can go cross country skiing (all in same place). I need to be able to rent all necessary equipment(i.e. skies, snowboard, boots, poles, goggles). also this needs to be near a city where you can go out walking around about 5-15 mins away. all of this needs to be no more than 4 hours from Monmouth county, NJ. 10 points to first logical answer.
