Symtoms of drinking ocean water? and please give me realistic answers not what you read on a site?

We went to Alabama and my daughter who is 17 months and I went into the ocean, when we got her in a big wave came in and her and I got thrown over and both ingested quite a bit, we had some Gatorade and had been fine up until 2 days ago, her and I both started going to the bathroom alot. My husband isnt having the issue and I have yet to ask him if he took in any ocean water. So please tell me can being perfectly fine except having to defecate alot be a symptom of taking in ocean water
