Asteroids orbit and sun light?

We hope it has meaning... if we detect an Earth-impacting asteroid far enough in advance, then one method of pushing the asteroid away from a collision would be by taking solar concentrators & focusing the sun's light on an area of the asteroid, such that the concentration of light would deflect the m *enough* to miss the Earth. Another method is by attaching solar sails to the asteroid, and increasing the area being hit with sunlight/solar wind - thereby also altering it's orbit, so it can miss the Earth.
